Are you a school or other children run organisation such as rainbows, guides, brownies, cubs, scouts, Duke of Edinburgh
We would like to offer Georgie Kate during the week as a floating classroom for schools in the local and surrounding areas and be a part of sharing some of the wonderful history and scenery our canals have to offer.
Working closely alongside the Canal and river trust website (www.canalrivertrust.org.uk/explorers/children) we have put together a booklet which can be requested to be posted. It has a number of cruise options available, some of which can be seen below which you may like to consider for any school trips dependant on what may be happening amongst your year groups curriculum.
Georgie Kate is a fully licensed passenger vessel with UK Passenger Certificate and boat Safety certificate. She is able to carry 28 adult passengers seated and 4 crew members. We are fully insured with KGM Marine Trade.
We are able to offer Georgie Kate with a 2 hour cruise along the Staffordshire and Worcester canal from Teddesley Boat co to Penkridge and return or to Acton Trussel and return. Both cruise options have 2 locks on route which we will pass through on way up or down the canal and come back through on our way back.
The locks are a great experience for children with so much history to share.
You may also prefer to arrange a walk along the canal and use Georgie Kate as a classroom at the beginning or end of your trip stationary and not require a cruise.
Book Georgie Kate stationary on the canal side at Park Gate lock for £80.00 an hour peak times and £65.00 off peak times (for peak and off peak times see below)
Your booking will include tea and coffee on board for the teachers and a kilner of freshly chilled water or squash refillable for the children.
We would advise children bring their own lunch boxes if crossing over lunch hours however we can accommodate lunch options for an additional charge should this be an additional requirement (please see below).
Prices below include the 2 hour cruise with an introduction to Georgie Kate on arrival including a safety talk and an optional mini talk on the history of the canals. (this may take between 15 and 30 minutes)
